Some Questions for Jill Bowdon

Where did you grow up and how did you get to Bellwether?
Dobson and I both grew up in Memphis, TN and attended large churches there. I graduated from University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. We were members at a local church for several years, where we met John Hugh and Linda. We wanted to be a part of a church that was focused on furthering God's Kingdom through ministry to the entire family while reaching out to the community around us.

What is your favorite pastime?
We love to travel as a family, watch movies, and read. I really like to cook and have friends and family over to enjoy time together over a good meal!

What is your favorite book?
I have recently read Same Kind of Different As Me. It was an unbelievable book that showed me that we are all very much alike, but life has taken us on different paths to bring us where we are today. It reminded me that it is only by God's grace that we are able to enjoy the life we have. I am also reading Making your Children's Ministry the Best Hour of Every Kid's Week.

What is your favorite thing about Bellwether?
I love the way that all of the areas of ministry really work together to further our mission of Raising Leaders who Raise Families who Raise the Kingdom. We strive to be a place where anyone can come and serve while being accepted as a part of God's family. The biggest blessing from Bellwether has been the friendships that have developed over the last two years that will grow for years to come!

What is your favorite Bible verse and Why?
Jeremiah 29:11-12 "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." That is such a comfort to me when I am in the middle of hard times. I know that God has a plan for my life. Not just any old plan, but one that has hope!
