I – Invest in your Church

Are you looking for a way to invest in Bellwether? Volunteer your time and talents to one of our service areas.

Opportunities to serve include Set-Up, Family, Connect, and Sanctuary teams. These ministry areas are lead 100% by volunteers every Sunday, so we need your help! If you feel called to invest in Bellwether in these areas, please contact Jill Bowdon at

Are there any ladies in Bellwether who desire a connection with others?

We are having a Ladies’ Lunch on September 10 at noon at the Bellwether White House. Bring your own lunch, come for a short devotional and prayer time and meet some new people. If you cannot stay for the entire hour, please come as long as you are able! Please invite your neighbors and co-workers, too!

Calling all Ladies…Bellwether’s New Women’s Meal Ministry, Feed the Need

Q: What is it?

A: This ministry is designed to give you an opportunity to prepare meals for your family and families in need.

Q: What do I have to do?

A: You have to pay $135 and commit to prepping a cooking item (cooking chicken, chopping onions, etc.). You also commit 4-5 hours on September 21st to spend putting the meals together.

Q: How does this feed families in need?

A: We will prepare ten meals per family or twenty smaller meals per family. Those who choose to do the ten larger meals will give two meals to the Bellwether freezer. Those who choose to do smaller meals will give four meals to the Bellwether freezer. Those meals will be given to families in need or in crisis.

Q: Can my child participate?

A: If your child is capable of following a recipe and measuring food items, they are welcome to join us as a helper.

Q: I don't really want the meals, but I do want to help with this ministry. What can I do?

A: You can donate all ten or twenty of your meals to the freezer. You can sponsor a mom who might not have the money right now. You can help with grocery shopping or just show up the day of and be an extra set of hands.

Q: I like to help behind the scenes. Does this ministry need help like that?

A: Yes! There are many ways that you can help behind the scenes. Meal planning, price comparison and grocery shopping are three examples.

Q: What are we going to make?

A: Every month will be different, but September's menu is below:

Taco Soup

Chicken Rotel

Chicken Cacciatore

Crockpot Mexican Chicken

Baked Potato Soup

Chicken Pot Pie

White Chicken Chili

Potato and Corn Chowder

Triple Layer Taco Pie

Chicken Enchiladas

Q: How will I sign up?

A: If you are interested in this ministry, please email Emilee Brasell at to be added to the email list. Sign up began August 29th. These slots are on a first come first served basis. The first ten people to sign up will get to cook on Saturday, September 21st. If the response is overwhelming, Emilee will add a second session on the afternoon of the 21st, but she will need several volunteers to help set up the kitchen for the second session.

Q: When do I pay?

A: Payment is due by Thursday, September 5th. Checks should be payable to Bellwether Church and can be given to Jill Bowdon.
